Normally, the front page of the Chronicle doesn't make me cry, except perhaps in frustration. But today's story about a woman who made a promise to a class of first graders that she would put them through college if they graduated from high school, was truely inspirational.

Perhaps the emotion the article brought up was heightened because I had spent all day Saturday teaching girls to sing barbershop harmony. Working with kids is so fun.. their energy is contagious.
