I've Got the Whole World..
I haven't been posting much this week, mainly because every time I have a little break in the day, instead of thinking about what I might blog about, I open my Google Earth application and travel the globe. I don't even know if I have words to express how much fun I am having, virtually flying around the globe, zooming into the Grand Canyon or hovering over the strange, distorted Eiffel Tower. The thrill of watching the earth zip away from me, rotate below me and then zoom in again as I near my destination! I have never felt more like an astronaut, or an explorer. Yesterday, I explored the rivers of Madagascar. Today, I gazed at the mountains around Banff.
It's interesting to see which parts of the world have been photographed in high-res satellite shots. I love the feature that allows me to see buildings in 3D, as I tilt the globe with one touch of the button and wander the streets of New York and look "up" at the skyscrapers.
